Students marking period grade will be determined as follows: Homework 25% Tests 40% Quizzes 25% Notebook 5% Writings 5% 2. Students semester grade will be determined as follows: Marking period 80% Semester exam 20% 3. Homework is an essential part of this course. Students should expect approximately 45 minutes to an hour of homework a night. The daily homework must be completed during class or that night at home. After we grade it, it is important for students to fix whatever problems missed to make sure you understand it. Copied work or work given to someone else to copy will result in a zero for that assignment with NO opportunity to redo or makeup the work . To figure out your homework average, take the percent you received on each and divide by the number of homework assignments. 4. Tests will be given at the end of each chapter. Students may retake each test to try and earn a higher score. The highest grade a student can earn on a test retake is a 75%. Students must come in before they retake a test to allow me to make sure that they understand the material. All retakes must be done outside of class and before the next test is given. To figure out your test average, take the percents you earned on each test, add them together and divide by the number of tests. 5. Quizzes will be given throughout the chapter on the sections in the chapter we have done up until that point (approximately ╜ way through the chapter). Students will NOT be allowed to retake quizzes.
